Three Step Process
APX — CADAMBA CORE VENEER PANEL
APX combines your choice of face veneer with our lightweight Cadamba veneer-core system.
APX — Cadamba Core Veneer Panel
Your browser can't display the interactive 3D panel. The APX system is built from five layers — face veneer, long grain crossband, Cadamba core, long grain crossband, and back veneer — detailed below.
Edge Detail
Clean, consistent layers create a controlled exposed profile for applications where the panel edge remains visible.
CONSTRUCTION
The long grain isn't a separate layer bonded on as an afterthought — it's engineered into the Cadamba core itself. Together they're a single core system, built to give the face a true, stable surface with none of the core's own grain telegraphing through.
That core system is the technology. The face and back veneer sit on top of it, and they're entirely yours to choose — any species, any finish, any pairing.
PERFORMANCE
A lighter panel pays off long before installation. APX is easier to move through the shop, load for delivery, carry across the job site, and position in place — reducing handling effort at every step. Lower weight can also make transportation more efficient and help reduce freight costs on larger orders. With Cadamba at its core, APX delivers these practical advantages while maintaining the strength and stability expected of a high-quality panel.
Chart comparing APX Cadamba Core to a standard veneer-core panel of equal thickness, indexed to the standard panel at 100%. Panel weight: standard 100%, APX 85% (15% lighter). Bending strength: standard 100%, APX 113% (13% stronger).
MATERIAL
Cadamba is the lightweight hardwood at the heart of every APX panel. Like European poplar, it offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and helps create lighter panels that are easier to handle. Cadamba is peeled, dried, and cross-laminated using the same proven veneer-core process. What sets it apart is value — it delivers the trusted performance advantages of European poplar in a more cost-effective panel.
APX Protect
Optional Glue-Line Insect Protection
For projects in termite-prone environments, APX Protect incorporates a preservative treatment into the panel's adhesive system during manufacturing. This integrated protection helps resist termites and wood-boring insects while preserving the appearance, finish, and performance of the panel.
CONFIGURATIONS
Specify the face and back independently with the materials that best suit your design, performance requirements, and budget. Match both sides or combine different surfaces over the same lightweight Cadamba core system.
